The National Sports Center - Built by the state, supported by the people. Surprisingly, the Minnesota sports venue that has seen the most visitors since the opening of their doors is not the Target Center, not the Xcel Energy Center, not even the Metrodome. In fact, this title goes to Blaine’s National Sports Center. Nobody would have guessed upon its completion using funds from the state that this campus would evolve into what it has, but thanks to all of the thoughtful people and private organizations in the Minneapolis area, the center has grown to become something special. Recent expansions like the Golf Center and Super Rink were almost entirely funded by private donors, thus showing the impact that this campus has had on the people of the local community. See what all the excitement is about during your visit to Central Minnesota. [Top]

Sports of all types at Blaine’s National Sports Center. The NSC was originally built for soccer, and as the world’s largest soccer complex, it still has a large influence on soccer in Minnesota. However, the NSC is also home to the Scwhan Super Rink, the world’s largest ice complex. This makes it a prime destination for amateur hockey and ice skating. In addition, the NSC’s National Youth Golf Center includes a golf course specifically designed for young amateur golfers. If that’s not enough, provided by the NSC are facilities for a long list of other sports including track & field, cycling, lacrosse, basketball, skating, football, broomball, ultimate Frisbee, and rugby. Yep, whatever you need, the National Sports Center has it. [Top]Wingate Coon Rapids - Coon Rapids, Minnesota (MN)
